Freihat asks about the government’s plan to activate a Security Council resolution related to gender

The representative of the Reform bloc, Yanali Freihat, addressed a parliamentary question to the Prime Minister about the national plan to activate Security Council Resolution No. “1325” on women, peace and security, which was approved by the Council of Ministers in its previous session on 7/9/2023.

Freihat asked about the government’s intention with one of the objectives of the plan, which stipulated “Meeting gender specific needsHe also wondered if the government had other tools to work on to achieve this goal.

Following is the text of the question:

* His Excellency the Honorable Speaker of the House of Representatives *

Based on Article (96) of the Constitution and pursuant to the provisions of Article (118) of the House of Representatives bylaws, I would like to address the following question to the Prime Minister.

*Question text:*

1- What is Security Council Resolution No. “1325” on women, peace and security for the years 2022-2025, and is it binding on Jordan?

2- What is the Jordanian national plan to activate the decision, which was approved by the Council of Ministers in the 9/7/2023 session? Provide me with a copy of the plan.

3- It was mentioned that one of the objectives of the plan is: “meeting the needs of gender.” What does the government mean by this objective?

4- Does the government have other tools that it is working on to achieve the goal referred to in the previous item other than this plan, what are they?
