The National Aid Fund confirmed that the joint cooperation with the Anti-Cybercrime Unit in the Criminal Investigation Department of the Public Security Directorate resulted in the arrest of 6 people who professionally exploited families benefiting from the Fund’s programs, and defrauded them.

According to the fund, these people were brought to court to take legal action against them, after exploiting the beneficiary families of the fund’s programs, by deluding them of the need to update their bank data, in order to steal their accounts and electronic wallets, or by impersonating official institutions and local and Arab official and public figures and deluding the victims. provide assistance to catch them.

The Minister of Social Development, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Aid Fund, Wafa Bani Mustafa, appreciated the cooperation between the Fund and the Public Security Directorate, which resulted in reducing the number of fake and forged pages under the name of the Aid Fund or in the name of the programs it implements.

Bani Mustafa indicated that in the past period, awareness of the dangers of fake pages was spread to families benefiting from the fund.

Referring to the Cybercrime Unit, educational and awareness sessions were held for the employees of the National Aid Fund; To reduce electronic financial fraud against the beneficiaries of the Fund’s programs, and the method of dealing with all complaints of fraud-related beneficiaries, which closed many fake pages bearing the name of the Fund and its programs, and referred many people to the judiciary.
