The Deposit Guarantee Corporation has warned against responding to attempts to deceive and electronic fraud that uses the corporation’s logo on a number of social media sites to mislead the reader that the corporation provides grants and financial assistance to individuals, with the aim of hacking devices, financial theft, data theft, and electronic extortion.

The Foundation said in a statement today, Monday, that many of these attempts have been monitored, warning that citizens may fall victim to this fraud and not deal with others.

She confirmed that she does not publish or send such publications, and that everyone should refer to the institution’s website (www.dic.gov.jo) to verify the validity of the publications circulated in the institution’s name.
