The message of art is distinguished as the mirror of civilization for peoples, and makes us feel its true value while making perfect use of it, even if this art is simple and with primitive tools or even with weak capabilities, as Shaima Abu El-Ela did, the lady in her thirties, after she transformed her artistic talent into a torch that lights the way for those in need, with love. Dedicated to her work, she designed interactive books for children, especially the blind.

Shaima said in her interview with “The Seventh Day” that she is a graduate of the Department of English Language, Assiut University, and holds a scholarship from the Ministry of Communications. Most of them are designs of animals and birds, such as birds and the lamb of Eid, which she is still designing until now.

The matter developed with her and became an inexhaustible passion, and even that enthusiasm began to increase until she decided to implement some stereoscopic interactive books in a way that helps the blind to read them and take information from them, and she continued that interactive books are an educational means for children through play so that the child does not feel bored while receiving the information, as It facilitates memorizing information, no matter how much it is, and life skills are taught through these books in a very simple way.

She added: “My beginning was when I wanted to present educational content to my children differently, and after research, I got to know the idea of an interactive book, and when I started implementing ideas and skills with my children, I found a response from them to the information that may be much older than their age.” And she added that these books make there is participation between the mother and her children, and increase bonding.

Time passed and she wanted to make more models for stereoscopic interactive books for blind children, so she searched more for the books they needed most at this stage and learned that educational booklets, whether for history or geography, are among the books that children are most attracted to in general, because they expand their thinking and increase their curiosity of knowledge, so I started Designing a map of Egypt in all its details.

She added: “I made interactive books and activities to develop the skills of the blind, as well as activities for people with special needs, and how will we be able to communicate the goal and idea of the activity to them, in addition to that I learned the Braille method and was able through the diversity of different materials and textures to pass this challenge, thanks to God.” And she concluded by saying that she She hopes to publish many interactive books for children and help those of determination to enjoy learning in this way.
