Amman – the compass

The educational expert, Bushra Arabiyat, praised the draft amendment to the traffic law recently approved by the government, stressing at the same time that harsher penalties for violators and reckless people would contribute to deterring them, but the basis for modifying any behavior is to link it to education before education.

Arabiyat presented in her statements to “compassA group of what it described as a set of “educational proposals and highlights on the Traffic Law”, in the hope that it would contribute to correcting the traffic situation and the behavior of violators from different members of society and different ages.

She said that there is no doubt that the number of vehicles has increased dramatically, whether the number of private or public cars, in addition to taxi cars, with their various applications, in addition to delivery service cars, medium and large trucks for transporting goods, and other vehicles of various kinds, and this increase has been accompanied by Unfortunately, there has been an increase in the number of fatal and fatal traffic accidents, due to the tangible decline in the behavior of drivers for these different categories of vehicles, so it was necessary to have a new traffic law, perhaps it will be a deterrent to the reckless group in society, because the truth is clear to everyone. That the reckless class is really bad manners.

Educational advisor Bushra Arabiyat: I demand deterrent measures for drug and alcohol users while driving

What is the relationship between education and traffic law?

Arabiyat drew attention to saying: Someone might say what is the relationship between education and education in this matter, and here I say that everyone who has a driver’s license is a learner, even if it is a simple education! Thus, he has undergone theoretical and practical training, so the basis for modifying any behavior is education before education, so how if education meets education?

She said: I will start with the owners of luxury cars, who may not be financially affected by the violation of using a cell phone while driving to write messages, which is the most dangerous, and call, but by watching daily on the roads, and after the issuance of an amendment to the bill, I see many of them still using mobile phones in the side streets, Yes, in the secondary streets so as not to be subjected to a fine of fifty dinars, and the mobile phones are removed from their hands if they notice the presence of a police patrol.

And she added, as well as the matter in changing the lane suddenly, the situation still exists, also entering a secondary street that is forbidden to pass is guaranteed for the reckless group because they make sure that there is no traffic policeman in every secondary street, as for cutting the red light, so talk and not be critical, for example but not limited to Today, at noon, four cars crossed a red light near the Manasir fuel station in Shmeisani, in front of my eyes.

Arabiyat continued by saying: The bottom line is that the reckless class of all segments of society, regardless of their financial level, needs a traffic policeman to accompany them to monitor the amount of violations in one hour.

Increasing the number of cameras contributes to the solution

Since the “Modified Law” was issued, praise be to God, I hope that surveillance cameras are installed not only on street poles, so that some people do not break them, but that they can be placed on the roofs of buildings unobtrusively, and I also suggest the assistance of people with resumes free of traffic violations, And installing mobile cameras in their cars under the supervision of the Public Security Agency, as these cameras monitor sixty images per second in the streets and near traffic lights, and thus the reckless group can be deterred by conclusive evidence.

Arabiyat said: I noticed phrases written on cars, “Attention, new driver!” Perhaps it is out of recklessness, but the phrase “Watch out for innocent students” written on one of the school buses raises attention, even though everyone has the right to use the road safely.

And she added by saying: I would like to point out that many reckless groups do not use the “dimple” sign at all, and among them are those who stand in the middle of the street to take coffee from a worker on the road, and among them are those who decide to turn in a street where cars are parked on both sides, and other behaviors that shame the forehead. , which actually indicates the lack of education or education.

Proposals for correction and modification

And she expressed her hope that the authorities concerned with the traffic law would consider a number of suggestions, including not giving a driver’s license to those under the age of twenty-two, as I see and hear about fifteen-year-old students driving their parents’ cars, without a license, in addition to highlighting delivery drivers. Whether car or bicycle users, some of them act randomly, as if they own the street.

Arabiyat said: I suggest setting times for trucks that deliver goods to large and small shops, especially in residential areas, because some of them decide to stop in the middle of the street, walk in the opposite direction of traffic, use mobile phones, and other things that endanger everyone!

And she added, as for smoking, I see that the matter should not be limited to public cars only, but rather it should be generalized because there are those who drive a car with a cigarette in their hand and in the other hand a cup of coffee from a cardboard that may spill suddenly for any reason, all of these behaviors are dangerous, in addition to that Pedestrian road users, girls, women, and young men, who use cell phones in the street without paying attention, as well as those who decide to cross the street with green signals for cars, and those who do not adhere to pedestrian lanes and leave the sidewalk, and other provocative behaviors, I think they should be violated as well.

Arabiyat concluded her speech by saying: The law remains above all, and here I support striking with an iron hand anyone who drives a car while drunk or abusing drugs, not only for violating it, but I hope that there will be a firm and deterrent measure for these people, may God protect Jordan.
