Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh’s statements about Jordan’s lack of natural resources, and talk about it being rich in natural resources and wealth is just an “illusion”, have sparked reprehensible and denounced reactions.
Al-Khasawneh said during a dialogue meeting held at the University of Jordan last Wednesday that Jordan is not a country rich in natural resources and wealth.
He added that it is a country rich in human resources and youth, commitment and the historical outlook of the leadership, not natural resources.
He continued, saying: “They are delusional that we are a rich country and not rich in natural resources.. We are a country rich in human and youth resources.”
Jordan’s natural resources are real
The economist, Mounir Dayyeh, said:compass“The natural resources that Jordan possesses are not an illusion, but rather an established fact according to many international and local studies that have proven this and showed in numbers that Jordan possesses a great wealth of these natural elements that put it at the forefront of the countries of the world.”
Diyya called for focusing on the mining sector and expanding investment fields in this sector so that it has the largest share in the gross domestic product, increasing foreign investment inflows and raising growth rates so that the Jordanian citizen can touch the impact of this in his daily life through increasing income, reducing poverty and unemployment rates and improving the standard of living.
The economist stressed that Jordan’s natural resources have exploited some of them, and many of them remained unexploited until now, despite the existence of many studies indicating the existence of huge reserves of these natural resources, which are the lifeblood of Jordan and are the only way for it to overcome its economic crisis.
“Jordanian youth has the right to live in a better reality and a better future, to enjoy the wealth of his country, and to see the impact of those wealth in his life,” according to Diyah.
Warning of the effects of al-Khasawneh’s remarks
Dayyah explained that the companies investing in this sector, whether foreign or local, rely on correct information to explore these resources, and we must be careful in our statements about those resources so as not to lose the investments of those companies.
For his part, the specialist in energy affairs, Engineer Amer Al-Shobaki, considered that the Prime Minister’s statement about the natural wastes of Rawat in Jordan is disastrous.
Al-Shobaki said in a statement received.compassAl-Khasawneh’s statements confirm “the approach of ignoring the Jordanian subterranean resources and reducing their importance! And how many job opportunities can we provide by building factories to exploit the minerals in Jordan in commercial quantities, except for the return on profits for the government, and most of these raw materials are not exploited until now?
He pointed out that in his speech, Al-Khasawneh lied to the energy ministers of the past governments and the current government he heads, and asked how the existence of wealth is an illusion. Eastern regions, and production from the Risha gas field reaching 50 million cubic feet, with perseverance in distributing gas to factories in Jordan, adding that Al-Khasawneh contradicts himself in his capacity as the head of the government that issues statements about the existence of wealth.
The expert in the field of energy, Eng. Mubarak Al-Tahrawi, wondered how a government talking about attracting investments would have its president talking about this aFor a way and denies the existence of any natural resources have? Does the president know that the government exports silica sand by means of dumpers to the Zionist entity, which now manufactures glass panels from it, as well as cells for electronic parts, and does the president know that the Zionist entity invests in copper on the opposite side of the border? .
Al-Tahrawi added, in press statements, which I monitored:compassIt is shameful that the president talks about this file without referring to the Ministry of Energy, which has sufficient information on this subject, pointing out that he submitted an integrated study to the Royal Court on natural resources and the real wealth they represent for the Kingdom.
What does Jordan have?
And the engineer, Al-Shobaki, stated that Jordan ranks fourth in the world in terms of oil shale reserves, with more than 50 billion tons, indicating that it is considered one of the best types in terms of oil.
Al-Shobaki explained that the oil shale is found in the areas of Al-Lajjun, Al-Sultani, Wadi Maghar, Attarat Umm Al-Ghadran, and Jurf Al-Darwish.
Al-Shobaki added that Jordan possesses more than 12 billion tons of silica sand, which is used for the manufacture of glass, crystal, optical glass, ceramics, and water purification filters.
He pointed out that there are more than 50 million tons of copper, which is used for the manufacture of drawn wire, and the electronic and electrical industries.
Jordan also possesses 96,000 tons of zircon, which is used in the medical and electrical industries, in the Wadi al-Mizrab region.
As for gold, Al-Shobaki indicated that there are visible gold granules in proportions that reached 40 gm / ton, and some samples reached 5 gm / ton in surface rock samples saturated with silica, in the Abu Khashiba area.
With regard to uranium, the Kingdom has a reserve of 65 thousand tons, in the middle of it, in addition to the presence of about 310 million tons of basalt, and 105 million tons of netonite used in the purification of vegetable oils and the manufacture of fodder and sand molds, in the regions of Ain Al-Bayda, Al-Azraq and Al-Yamani.
