Agreement to clear and remove mines in the potash area

Today, Sunday, the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army / Directorate of the Royal Engineering Corps and the Arab Potash Company signed an agreement for the purposes of clearing and removing mines from the southern region of the company’s concession areas, in line with the Potash Company’s strategy to implement future projects in the region as part of its long-term plans.
The agreement was signed under the auspices of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Staff Youssef Ahmed Al-Hunaiti, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Potash Company, Engineer Shehada Abu Hudaib.
Under the agreement, the clearance teams from the Royal Engineering Corps will conduct a complete ground survey of the project area, which has an area of ​​24 square kilometers, and clear it of mines according to international standards for demining mines.
The agreement comes within the framework of the joint arrangements between the Jordanian Armed Forces / Royal Engineering Corps and the Arab Potash Company, to benefit from the expertise, capabilities and high competencies of the Royal Engineering Corps in clearing mines in the company’s concession areas, in line with the company’s general safety policies, to enable it to implement its expansion plans and projects in this area.
