The spokesman for the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, Yanal Al-Baramawy, said that the ministry is making an effort and a continuous monitoring role throughout the year.

And he spoke to the “Awafi” program on the broadcast of “Jaish FM”, today, Sunday, that the ministry will continue its monitoring work during the blessed Eid Al-Adha period on all commercial stores to follow up on compliance with the provisions of the Industry and Commerce Law and other legislation regulating markets, to ensure the abundance of goods and quantities and to prevent any imbalances. Or abuses that harm the interests of citizens.

And he indicated that the oversight work during Eid al-Adha will focus on clothing and sweets shops, due to the high demand for them, by making sure that prices are announced, and that the announced offers and discounts are real and not fake, in addition to continuing to monitor food stores, bakeries and fuel stations.

He said that the ministry’s plan for Eid al-Adha focuses in one of its aspects on the continuation of the work of the bakery and fuel sectors, and within a specific shift schedule for the bakery sector, so that bread remains available and accessible to citizens, as bakeries continue to operate as usual in all regions.

He emphasized the participation in the oversight work during Eid al-Adha with all relevant authorities, whether governmental or the private sector.

He added that the ministry has a supervisory role over the sacrificial animals and follows up on the places of their sale to ensure that all matters are going as they should.

He said that the Ministry’s supervisory teams are made up of experts and specialists, and they will carry out two morning and evening rounds during Eid al-Adha in all governorates, and they have all legal powers to control any violation related to the markets. Such as not announcing the prices or violating the specified prices, and the violations are referred to the competent judicial authorities to issue deterrent financial penalties or imprisonment, according to the type of violation.

He noted that the Ministry continues to receive complaints and observations of citizens through the complaint phone numbers in all governorates, and the Ministry’s social media platforms, stressing that after verifying the validity of any complaint, the necessary measures are taken against any commercial store that commits abuses or violations of the provisions of the law.
