Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faraya affirmed that the “security base” throughout Jordan is strong and stable, despite the challenges arising from regional unrest, noting the ministry’s role in protecting the Jordanian economy.

This came during a dialogue session held by the Jordan Economic Forum within the Economic Salon program, to discuss the role of the Ministry of Interior in developing the Jordanian economy, with the participation of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Forum, Dr. Al-Hamoud, Deputy Dr. Hayel Ayyash, and others.

The Minister gave a detailed view of the efforts made by the Ministry, and the contributions included achieving security, management and development for the well-being of citizens within the capabilities available to the Ministry.

He discussed the efforts exerted by the Ministry and its security and administrative agencies in advancing the Jordanian economy, including the electronic visa launched by the Ministry, which helped attract more individuals and investments to the Kingdom, pointing to the adoption of US and Schengen visas as entry visas to the Kingdom for nationalities that need prior approval. Along with issuing visas for a period of 5 years.

The minister also spoke about the ministry’s efforts in digital transformation to facilitate the issuance and extension of residence permits for investors and their families, including enabling tourism companies to reunite Syrian refugees residing in Europe, America and Canada with their families in Syria for a month of tourism inside the Kingdom, as more than 45,000 tourists visited the kingdom. them during this year.

He referred to the ministry’s efforts to eliminate the “royalties” imposed by criminals on citizens and merchants, and the progress made by the ministry in addressing the social and economic problems resulting from the “tribal exodus.”

Minister Al-Faraya praised the role of the Jordan Economic Forum in encouraging positive dialogues and presenting applicable proposals and recommendations to the relevant authorities, which contributes to a positive impact on the economic policy-making.
