Today, Saturday, the price of selling a gram of 21 karat gold, the most wanted by citizens in the local market, reached 39.20 dinars for the purpose of buying from Al-Sagha stores, compared to 37.50 dinars for selling.
The selling price of one gram of 24 and 18 karat gold, for the purpose of buying from Al Sagha shops, was 46.20 and 34.80 dinars, respectively.
Rebhi Allan, head of the General Syndicate of Trade Shop Owners and Jewelery Makers, indicated that the price of the Rashadi lira weighing 7 grams amounted to 284 dinars, and the English lira weighing 8 grams amounted to 315 dinars.
In a statement to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), Allan expected an improvement in the demand for gold jewelry in the coming days, with the advent of Eid Al-Adha, and the start of the season of social events.
He added that the yellow metal closed its trading in the global market on Friday, at $1921 an ounce.
