Learn about the expected sacrifice prices in Jordan

Al-Bawsala – The head of the Livestock Breeders Association, Zaal Al-Qualit, revealed that the prices of sacrifices for this year have returned to normal, with the resumption of exports to Saudi Arabia last Thursday. Pointing out that the price of municipal sacrifices of an average size will range between 180 to 230 dinars, and the imported ones will range between 160 to 200 dinars.

Al-Qualit suggested that the prices of sacrifices will stabilize during Eid al-Adha, between 160-230 dinars for a single sacrifice of an average weight between 40 and 50 kilograms, both local and imported, according to Al-Rai daily.

He pointed out that the existing price per kilo of the local sacrifice ranges between 4.25 to 4.5 dinars, and the imported one is four dinars.

Al-Qualit indicated that the local markets are witnessing a commercial movement by citizens through the reservation of their sacrificial animals.

The clerk expected the movement to be more active during the coming days, which coincide with the disbursement of salaries and the approaching Eid al-Adha.

The qualit confirmed that there are more numbers of sacrificial animals than the needs of the Jordanian market.

Al-Qualit estimated the number of sheep slaughtered during the Eid al-Adha period, over the course of three days, at about 250,000 sheep.

He pointed out that the number of imported sheep in Jordan ranges from 200,000 to 300,000 heads.

He stressed that supply and demand is what achieves the equation in prices.

And about municipal sheep exports to the Saudi market; Al-Qualit indicated that since the lifting of the temporary Saudi ban on them, last Thursday, 58 thousand heads have been exported, which constitutes 13% of the annual exports of sheep to the Saudi market, amounting to 400 thousand heads.

According to the records, more than 80,000 workers, most of them Jordanians, work in the livestock sector between breeders and workers in fattening and dairy production.
