The 61st Commando Rapid Intervention Battalion of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Rapid Intervention Brigade carried out today, Wednesday, the joint tactical exercise (Jebel 4), with the participation of a team of French special forces, in the presence of the Director of French Security and Defense Cooperation, Lieutenant General Regis Colcombet, and the Chief of Staff of the Military Region. The three-week exercise aimed to train participants to respond immediately to any emergency through joint coordination, and to deal with all circumstances and dilemmas imposed by the nature of the situation.

The exercise, which was attended by a number of officers of the Jordanian Armed Forces, the French ambassador and military attaché in Amman, included fighting in mountainous areas, transporting missions and ammunition by air ferries, landing operations on rocky sections and free climbing, ground medical evacuations in mountainous areas, and resupply. logistical, and the use of reconnaissance elements and snipers in the mountainous environment.

The participants showed high physical fitness, accuracy and skill in exploiting the nature of the mountainous terrain.

This exercise comes within the training programs implemented by the Jordanian Armed Forces – the Arab Army with the friendly French side, to raise the level of readiness and combat efficiency to the highest levels for its participants.
