The Head of the Nurses Syndicate, Khaled Rababaa, called for the establishment of medical clinics and the appointment of nurses and psychological counselors in schools.

Rababaa said, in response to inquiries about the preventive and curative medical care system for workers in institutions, that the union will intensify its training courses in first aid and emergency.

He added that there are a sufficient number of nurses to work in the institutions, praising the system, which will provide job opportunities for nurses, and will also provide a safe environment for the worker.

As for nurses’ wages, Rabaa stated that they amount to 500 dinars as a minimum.

On Thursday, the preventive and curative medical care system for workers in institutions, issued in accordance with paragraph (b) of Article (85) of Labor Law No. (8) of 1996, was published in the Official Gazette.

This system shall come into force after 60 days have passed from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette to give employers sufficient time to comply with its requirements.

The spokesman for the Ministry of Labor, Muhammad Al-Zyoud, considered that the system of preventive and curative medical care for workers in institutions is a quantum leap in the development of the work environment system, stemming from the ministry’s keenness to harmonize changes in the work environment and the governing legislation.

He said that the system provides a safe and sound work environment, and provides the necessary protection for workers to ensure their safety and health in private sector facilities.
