The Public Committee of the “Popular Unity” Party in Zarqa organized, on Sunday evening, a solidarity festival to support the prisoners in the Israeli occupation prisons, under the title “Prisoners are the Title of Dignity”, in the presence of various political, trade union and popular circles.

The coordinator of the “National Committee for the Defense of Prisoners” (civilian), Fadi Farah, referred to “the challenges facing prisoners in Israeli detention centers,” stressing “the need to support them by all possible means.”

In turn, a member of the Political Bureau of the “Unity Party,” Imad al-Malhi, called on the “Palestinian Authority to stop its hand in the resistance,” condemning its practices, “which are only in the interest of the enemy.”

He asked, “What kind of authority is this that arrests its citizens and resistance fighters who defend the wealth of Palestine and repel the occupier and his terror?”

Al-Malhi saluted “the prisoners languishing in the prisons of the enemy, and the Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (one of the factions of the Palestine Liberation Organization), Commander Ahmed Saadat and his companions.”

He touched on the issue of the cancer-sick prisoner, Walid Daqqa, “who is struggling with death and the jailer, who is still stubborn about releasing him, despite the expiration of his four-decade sentence.”

He pointed to the issue of the 19 Jordanian prisoners in the occupation prisons, calling on the Jordanian authorities to release them, stop all forms of normalization with the occupation, and drop the Wadi Araba peace treaty.

The poet, Rami Yassin, gave a verse dedicated to the prisoners, and the festival concluded with the melodies and words of the Baladna band, for the patriotic song led by the artist Kamal Khalil.
