Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia announced that the crescent of Dhu al-Hijjah could not be seen, and therefore Thursday, June 29, will be Eid al-Adha.

The process of investigating the crescent of Dhu al-Hijjah is considered an important matter for the Arab Islamic countries and all over the world, as through it the date for the start of the Hajj season and the blessed Eid al-Adha is determined.

The crescent is monitored using telescopes and specialized tools, as a number of experts, astronomers and accredited muftis participate in the investigation work, in order to ensure the highest levels of accuracy in determining the beginning of the month of Dhul-Hijjah and determining the day of Arafah and Eid Al-Adha.
