On Thursday evening, the Islamic Movement in Zarqa held a symposium during which it dealt with the Turkish elections and the state of Arab, Islamic and Jordanian interest in these elections.
Participants in the symposium raised questions about the great global interest in these elections, whether by knowing the mechanism of these elections, the participating parties, and the opposition coalition, which has become the second most important election in the world after the US presidential elections.
The leader of the Islamic Movement, Zaki Bani Irsheid, said during the symposium that all the Turkish and international regional, local and international conditions, to overthrow the Justice and Development Party, failed, but these attempts failed because the party ruled the country for 20 years, despite the fact that 5 million voters in Turkey are from the young generation. Those who live before the victory of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Bani Irsheed stressed that the victory of the Justice and Development Party came despite the economic crisis that struck the country, and posed a real challenge to the Turkish state, the party and the Republican Alliance, while the last point was the unification of the opposition to overthrow President Erdogan, but he was able to turn the scene around and achieve a majority in parliament and settle the round. second by a majority.
What does the election mean
Bani Irshaid indicated that the elections mean that they are a plan to reach power, and the most controversial question in the Arab world is the reason for the interest of the Arab citizen in these elections, and the answer is simply because it provides a model for the aspirations of the Arab street, in terms of real democracy and a sound mechanism to reach power.
And he indicated that the Arab citizen is looking forward to new experiences that confirm and consolidate the issue of the peaceful transfer of power, and that the ballot boxes express the will of the people, which is the right of the nation to choose, and the deterioration was not with the rulers, but some forces that claim to want change and say that governance is based on the legitimacy of religion and the legitimacy of Arab nationalism, but without providing the legitimacy of the nation and granting it freedom of choice.
The leader of the Islamic movement pointed to some fatwas that contributed to the absence of the legitimacy of the nation, although they contradict the explicit Quranic text, while the Turkish elections broke the monopoly and allegations that the occupying state is the only democratic state in the Middle East.
On the other hand, Bani Irshid dealt with the state of hyperbole that accompanied the Turkish elections, especially by supporters of President Erdogan, and the great calls for him to be chosen and the warning and fear for Islam in case he loses these elections, indicating that this hyperbole does not serve Islam or Erdogan.
For his part, MP Yanal Freihat said that he followed the Turkish elections inside the operations room of the Justice and Development Party while he was in Istanbul, pointing out that they are very unique, and can be benefited from at the Jordanian national level, or at the level of the Islamic Action Front party.
Freihat indicated that the voter turnout in the Turkish elections reached 90%, which is the highest percentage in the world, far surpassing European countries and America, and this has great indications, despite the very large state of polarization, between one movement whose reference is secular and another whose reference is religious.
He stressed that the interest of the Turkish citizen is due to clear reasons, namely that these elections will determine his fate, his future and the future of his children, during the corresponding period, pointing to the great efforts made and achieved by the Justice and Development Party, which had a great impact on the Turks, which led to participation in the pivotal elections.
Regarding President Erdogan’s failure to decide the elections from the first round, he explained that it was a pleasant thing for the president’s supporters, as it was the desire of the Justice and Development Party, as they do not want the difference to be in the thousands because the opposition can stage protests in the street with international support and the lack of recognition in the elections. .
He stressed that the failure to resolve the elections in the first round proved to the Turkish people and the whole world the sincerity of the Justice and Development Party, as it did not carry out fraudulent operations, similar to other countries, to resolve these elections, which blocked the way for the skeptics.
