The head of the Doctors Syndicate, Ziad Al-Zoubi, said that it is difficult to know the number of doctors who will benefit from a system that obliges institutions to employ workers in the medical and health professions, referring to this because the Syndicate does not know the number of factories and institutions.

Al-Zoubi explained, regarding the system of preventive and curative medical care for workers in institutions, that the need for a general physician is not a specialist.

According to Al-Zoubi, the minimum salary for a full-time general practitioner is 850 dinars.

The preventive and curative medical care system for workers in institutions was published in the Official Gazette, Thursday, issued pursuant to Paragraph (b) of Article (85) of Labor Law No. (8) of 1996.

The provisions of this system apply to the establishment and its branches and to the place that falls under the supervision of the establishment and requires the presence of the worker in it for the purposes of work and in which it carries out its economic activity if the conditions stipulated in the system are met.

According to the system, each employer or responsible manager must make the necessary arrangements for conducting periodic medical examinations to maintain the health fitness of workers on an ongoing basis, and to discover any diseases that may appear in their early stages, in accordance with the instructions issued by the Minister for this purpose, provided that these instructions include the examination period for each profession.

The employer allocates a special medical record for each worker in which he keeps the periodic medical examinations that were conducted for him during the period of his employment, which includes the following information: a- The worker’s name, date of joining work, nature of work, the result and date of the initial medical examination, the results of the periodic medical examinations conducted for the worker and the sick symptoms (if any). ) and the expected occupational disease for that and the actions that were taken.
