Throughout successive civilizations, we have inherited the art of sculpture, which transforms ordinary solid materials into pieces of art that our ancestors have always used to perpetuate important events and personalities. This is what made Amal Omar, 53, passionate about this type of art. Age or time did not stop her from practicing sculpture because of her great faith. With her talent and determination to work no matter how old she is, she even made a simple room a workshop that pumped a huge number of statues designed with Aswan clay, to turn the clay into pieces of art with fingers of gold.

Amal said in her interview with “The Seventh Day” that her artistic start came since she was in the elementary school, and that was with the encouragement of her teacher, who used to take from her drawings and highlight these drawings and put them in the principal’s office, a simple act, but it cemented her love for art in her heart, and the years passed To start the high school stage, where she began the experience of sculpting on limestone, and from that she insisted on studying at the Faculty of Art Education at Helwan University.

Years passed and she had nothing to hinder her talent, even though she became a mother and was responsible for her children, and with the passage of time the passion increased and made her create an artistic entity for herself despite the simplicity of the place in which she implements these artworks, and she continued that every piece of art she carved has a story, as it She sculpted many personal portraits of a late mother, a hero from the October War, and even the lady who symbolizes Egypt, who holds the key to life, including many Greek and Roman statues that are rich in detail, as if you see her alive.

She did not stop for a moment from her dream, even if she was injured, because the pain was erased by the love of art, and she added that all the time she dreamed of carving a field statue that expresses Arabism and the homeland, and that she sees Egyptians with a great passion for art, as if they were born pharaohs by nature, and she also seeks to spread the culture of knowledge of the types of art. Especially sculpture, stressing that talent does not need a certain age or capabilities, but rather determination, strength and love for work.
