Today, Wednesday, the first convoy of pilgrims will start for the current Hajj season, according to the Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites, Muhammad al-Khalayleh.
Al-Khalayleh said on Jordanian television that the ministry will hold an official farewell ceremony in the city of pilgrims in the Giza district.
Al-Khalayleh added that the number of Jordanian pilgrims this year is 8,000 male and female, 2,775 male and female pilgrims chose the Hajj by air, while 4,162 male and female pilgrims chose the land Hajj within 150 VIP buses and 15 European buses of European origin.
Al-Khalayleh indicated that 1042 male and female pilgrims chose Hajj within the VIP category and 5799 male and female pilgrims chose Hajj under the regular category, stressing that the pilgrims’ residences are between 1500-2000 meters in maximum distance from the Grand Mosque in Makkah Al-Mukarramah.
Al-Khalayleh revealed that there are approximately 1,700 pilgrims born in 1946 or younger, pointing out that the current Hajj season is not easy and requires cooperation from everyone to make it a success.
Al-Khalayleh also indicated that the Ministry provided all facilities to the pilgrims of the Palestinians of 1948, whose number is estimated at 4,500 pilgrims, and they are the responsibility of the Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites, indicating that all the pilgrims of the Palestinians of 1948 chose Hajj within the “Vip” category.
The Hajj and Umrah Department of the Ministry announced the completion of the necessary arrangements and procedures for this year’s Hajj season.
The department said in a press statement that all the observations that were monitored during the last season were studied and addressed, and follow-up on the observations and suggestions that it received from the cadres accompanying the Jordanian Hajj mission, Hajj companies and Jordanian pilgrims for the last season, and they were carefully taken into account.
The statement added that the department worked to improve and develop the level of services that will be provided to Jordanian pilgrims in terms of housing in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, and the shrines of Arafat and Mina.
She pointed out that the route of the pilgrims has been changed for this season in terms of the departure of the pilgrims’ convoys from the lands of the Kingdom to Makkah Al-Mukarramah directly, while the return route after completing the Hajj rituals is from Makkah Al-Mukarramah to Madinah, in which the pilgrims will stay for a few days and then return to the homeland in order to save effort. And money on the pilgrim during the journey.
She confirmed that the pilgrims will stay for the first time in 4-star hotels that are 1,200 to 1,500 meters away from the Grand Mosque, while the hotels are less than 400 meters away from the Prophet’s Mosque.
The department indicated that food and drink services will be provided to Jordanian pilgrims throughout the period of their presence in Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, in addition to providing the same service to pilgrims in Arafat and Mina, which consists of two daily meals and cold and hot drinks, so as to relieve the pilgrims of physical and material effort and enable them to devote their time. to worship.
The department indicated that the pilgrims will stay for about 15 days on the Hajj journey, accompanied by administrative, guidance, medical and media missions.
