Tomorrow, Sunday, the Economic and Social Council will begin conducting an expanded national dialogue with all Jordanian media institutions and agencies, to discuss the general policy of media and government communication.

The document prepared by the Ministry of Government Communication will be the starting point for the dialogue, whose opening session will be held in the presence of the Minister of Government Communication, Faisal Al-Shboul, at 11 am at the Kempinski Hotel – Amman.

In previous statements by Al-Shaboul, the ministry aims, through the draft general policy for media and government communication, to create the appropriate environment to enhance the status of the media and develop its tools.

Al-Shboul said that the outlines of the draft will activate communication channels and build trust with the public and the media, by preparing media messages for ministries and government institutions to support their strategies and plans, with the aim of unifying the government narrative.

The draft prepared by the ministry, based on the administrative organization system under which the ministry was established, also aims to empower media spokespeople, ensuring more media and information flow.

According to Al-Shboul, the draft works to improve the media legislation that regulates media work by reviewing it, with the aim of developing it and keeping pace with the rapid technical developments, and reviewing reports on media freedoms by following them up and finding out what was stated in their contents and dealing with them.
