Today, Saturday, the Phoenix Center for Economic and Informatics Studies and the Jordanian Labor Observatory launched a campaign entitled “Children, Not Workers,” which runs until June 15.
According to a press release from the Labor Observatory, the campaign comes on the occasion of the International Day to Combat Child Labor, which falls on June 12 of each year, with the aim of shedding light on the problem of child labor and raising legal awareness among business owners to reduce this phenomenon, and to reveal the reasons that push children, Especially those under the age of 16, to go to the labor market.
The campaign includes publishing messages on social media, ranging from educational messages, legal texts, and quotes from children working in different sectors, in addition to press reports and stories.
The campaign is launched to emphasize the importance of combating child labor in Jordan and eliminating the main causes of this phenomenon.
