The National Forum for Defending Freedoms announced that the State Security Court held on Sunday morning (4/6) a session to consider case No. 3000/2023, which was brought by the Public Prosecution Office of the aforementioned court against the activist and political activist Sufyan Khreisat, in the presence of a number of defense attorneys from the forum members. The court heard a number of defense witnesses who were named by the defense attorney, then the defense attorney sealed the defense evidence and the public prosecutor pleaded, asking to incriminate the accused with what was assigned to him and to determine his legal punishments. On the same day, Sunday 4/6/2023, the State Security Court held a session to consider case No. 4200/2022, which was filed by the Public Prosecution at the aforementioned court against the movement and political activist Hamad Al-Kharshah and his companions in the same case, in the presence of defense attorneys for the accused Hamad, who is affiliated with the forum, and in the presence of attorneys. The pleadings defended the rest of the accused, and in view of the circumstances resulting from the long hunger strike that the accused Hamad went through and is still going on for more than 280 days, which negatively affected his health conditions and the functions of the organs and made him unable to appear before the court due to the deterioration of his health conditions, which The lawsuit procedures were suspended several months ago, and the court decided to proceed with the trial procedures against the rest of the defendants, provided that the accused Hamad is enabled to defend himself upon his first appearance before the court. 6 / 2022.
Likewise, the State Security Court held a session today, Monday, corresponding to 5/6/2023, to consider the case No. 4744/2023, which was filed by the Public Prosecution at the aforementioned court against activists and political activists, Dr. Sufyan Al-Tal, Professor Omar Abu Rasaa, and Eng. Abdel-Tawahia, in the presence of a number of attorneys. The defense is a member of the forum, where the court heard the testimony of a number of Public Prosecution witnesses whose statements were discussed by the defense attorneys, and the court decided to postpone consideration of the case to hear the rest of the Public Prosecution witnesses until Sunday 6/18/2023.
Likewise, the State Security Court held a session this morning, Monday 5/6/2023, to consider the case filed by the Public Prosecution at the aforementioned court against Al-Haraki and the political activist Sabri Al-Mashaleh, in the presence of a number of defense attorneys from the Forum members. In this session, the defendant’s defense statement and the defense attorneys’ request were submitted. They were given a deadline to submit a list of defense evidence, and the court responded to their request and granted them a deadline for this purpose, and decided to postpone consideration of the case until Sunday 6/18/2023.
Al-Multaqa said that the defense attorney for the accused, Hamad Al-Kharshah, who is arrested pending case No. 4200/2022, had previously submitted to the court many requests to release him on bail, which exceeded 25 requests, but all of them were rejected by the court.
