Clearing 6,676 vehicles last month from Harrat Al-Zarqa

The representative of the vehicle sector in the Jordanian Free Zones Investors Authority, Jihad Abu Nasser, said that more than 6,676 vehicles were cleared from the Zarqa Free Zone for the local market during May of 2023.

Abu Nasser added that the volume of vehicle clearance amounted to 6,676 vehicles, an increase of 54% during May 2023, compared to the previous month of April.

He pointed out that clearance during last May was distributed to 1,723 “hybrid” vehicles, with a growth rate of 60% compared to April of this year, 3,066 “electric” vehicles, with a growth rate of 49.4%, and 1,219 petrol vehicles, with a growth rate of 45.8%. Diesel vehicles have the highest growth rate compared to April of the current year, reaching 80.5% with 668 vehicles.

He pointed out that the vehicles re-exported last May amounted to 4,859 vehicles, with a growth rate of 67.3%, indicating that the new law regulating the investment environment contributed to reviving the re-export of vehicles, after the tax exemptions granted to free zones.

With regard to the growth of clearance last May compared to Nissan, Abu Nasser explained that the vehicle market is witnessing an increasing demand during the summer period, which starts in May and reaches its peak in August each year, while the vehicle market is witnessing a “calm phase”, which is usually in the period From November to April every year.

The Jordanian Free Zones Investors Authority had announced an increase in clearance for electric and “hybrid” vehicles and a decline in gasoline since the beginning of this year.
