The Secretary General of the Ministry, Dr. Raed Al-Shboul, on behalf of the Minister of Health, Dr. Firas Al-Hawari, inaugurated the activities of the Eighth Jordanian International Conference on Allergy and Immunology, which is organized by the Association of Allergy and Immunology Physicians in the Medical Syndicate, in cooperation with the European Society of Allergy and Immunology, the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology, and the World Allergy Organization, over two days. Al-Shaboul said that the Ministry of Health has given great attention to allergic and immunological diseases in Jordan at the level of diagnosis and treatment, and the implementation of medical programs. guidance for various allergic diseases; Such as asthma, sinusitis, hay fever, and allergy to certain foods, in addition to seasonal allergy to wheat. Bar and pollen in the air and other allergic diseases.
He added that the ministry has begun to implement mechanisms for early detection and diagnosis of these diseases by conducting a clinical examination and laboratory tests in the hospital. The main and educational hospitals of the Ministry.
And he indicated that the Ministry sought to develop preventive programs and guidelines to avoid the appearance of symptoms of allergic diseases, as specialized clinics in health centers provide medical assistance. In cases of severe allergies, the necessary vaccinations are provided to patients at the scheduled times. Which contributes to enhancing immunity, especially for children, as they are the most vulnerable to infection, in addition to awareness and counseling programs for targeted citizens and patients.
He pointed out that the complications of allergic immune diseases increase with chronic diseases such as; asthma, arthritis, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease, and it is believed that this is due to systemic interaction immunogens with allergens; Which leads to chronic infections in the body.
The head of the association and the conference, Dr. Hani Ababneh, said that the association aims, through the conference, to keep abreast of all scientific and medical developments in the field of immunity and allergy, and that the association seeks to establish an electronic national database for allergenic substances and foods in Jordan to monitor preservatives and sensitizing colors that enter food and drink. And documenting it, by placing a warning sticker on foods and drinks.
He explained that the percentage of allergies in the Kingdom exceeded 30% of the population of the Kingdom, and that the Society is looking forward to establishing a national center for allergy and immunology in Jordan, similar to national centers in Arab and foreign countries, to standardize diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for allergy, train medical staff and exchange experiences with developed countries, which would contribute to Reducing the cost of treatment for patients.
He mentioned that the Society of Allergy and Immunology Doctors in Jordan has been in the Jordanian Medical Association for 18 years, starting with 15 doctors, and now includes more than 220 doctors from all related medical specialties.
The President of the Doctors Syndicate, Ziyad Al-Zoubi, said that the conference falls within the goals set by the Syndicate in terms of continuing medical education, and praised the efforts of the Society in this regard.
He stressed the need to meet the demands of doctors and improve their professional and living conditions.
The head of the scientific committee of the conference, Dr. Mutasim Al-Sweiti, said that the conference will discuss, through 9 scientific sessions, 58 scientific research in the fields of immunity and allergy, including the uses of stem cells in its treatment, with the participation of 58 Jordanian, Arab and foreign researchers from five countries (the United States of America, Germany, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia). Egypt and Palestine).
He added that the conference is a unique opportunity to discuss the intersection between allergy, immunity and COVID-19 and to explore the latest research on this topic.
Diagnostic immunology, immunological diseases, bone marrow transplantation, rheumatic diseases in adults and children, the use of biological therapies in immunological diseases and cancer, bronchial asthma, food allergy, ear, nose and throat allergy, skin immunology, all kinds of allergies, immunology and infection, and the latest science Laboratory medicine in immunology.
It is noteworthy that the conference is accredited by the Jordanian Medical Council, with 6 hours for attendees and 8 hours for lecturers for CPD professional development purposes.
In addition to being accredited by the Higher Health Council with 6 hours for attendance and 8 hours for lecturers for the category of medical laboratories and allied medical professions.
In addition to the conference, a medical exhibition will be held, in which a number of local and foreign pharmaceutical companies will participate.
