The Minister of Agriculture, Engineer Khaled Al-Hunaifat, affirmed that the ministry is committed to providing assistance and support to farmers.

Al-Hunaifat said that the agricultural directorates are currently working on assessing the damage caused by the recent rains, and the extent of the damage will be assessed and the necessary measures will be taken.

This came during an inspection tour in Al-Mafraq Governorate, where he visited the Al-Baqawiyya excavation in the northeastern Badia, and the site of one of the affected beekeepers.

He pointed out that the excavations that were constructed during the year 2022 and the beginning of 2023 have been completely filled, indicating that the rain is supportive of the agricultural sector and contributes to enhancing the grazing season and increasing the water injection of groundwater, and monitoring the efficiency of the excavations that have been maintained.

Al-Hanifat was briefed, during the tour in which he was accompanied by MP Dr. Habis Al-Shabib, the Director of Mafraq Agriculture, Dr. Ibtihal Al-Khraisha, and a number of farmers and livestock breeders, about the reality of some crops and crops and the impact of rain on them.

He listened to the technical opinion of the ministry’s cadres in the field, stressing the necessity of sustaining communication from extension units, providing services and communicating with farmers.
