$981 million in foreign aid committed to the end of April

The value of foreign aid from regular grants and soft loans committed to Jordan and signed until the end of last April amounted to approximately $981 million, including additional grants to support the response plan to the Syrian crisis, according to the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation.

On Sunday, the ministry indicated that the value of regular grants is approximately $80 million, including what was funded for development projects in the sectors of agriculture, food security, water and sanitation, education, health, economic development, modernization of the public sector, employment, vocational training, livelihoods and gender. social.

The ministry stated that the donors included the German Agency for International Cooperation, Japan, Canada, Spain, the European Union, the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

She pointed out that the volume of soft loans amounted to about $763 million at the end of last April for development projects in the water and sanitation sectors, education and sectoral support through the budget to support reforms in the field of investment and energy, implemented through the Ministry of Finance and the relevant ministries and institutions.

Funders of soft loans included Canada, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the World Bank.
