And the Cabinet approved, earlier, to start buying wheat and barley crops from farmers for the agricultural season 2022/2023.
The Ministry of Water and Irrigation had said that the current rainy season is “excellent” and will have a positive impact in the coming days on various aspects of economic and agricultural life. .
The Council of Ministers decided to approve the purchase prices for wheat and barley at 500 dinars per ton for seed wheat and 420 dinars for port wheat.
And adopting the price of seed barley at 420 dinars per ton and 370 dinars per ton for port barley.
The government revealed the 17 approved varieties of wheat and barley that are compatible with the local environment and adapt to the challenges of drought, low rainfall and poor soil properties.
