The Ministry of Public Works and Housing announced the completion of part of the works of the left lane of the desert road heading (the descent of the Negev) in the area between Ras al-Naqeb and al-Hamimah, with a length of 3.5 km.

The ministry said in a statement today, Thursday, that starting next Sunday morning, traffic adjustments will be made, in coordination with the Public Security Directorate, at the work site to complete the work of the remaining part of this lane, as traffic coming from Aqaba towards Amman will be redirected from the Humaymah area to Dibbah. Shop to the original route of the newly executed road according to the directional signs at the site.

She emphasized that traffic diversions are equipped with all public safety elements, calling on road users to adhere to the principles of safe driving, and the instructions of its cadres working in the field and managing external patrols.

It is noteworthy that the work in the project was divided into two parts to ensure the smooth flow of traffic on the road, and to facilitate the road users in order to complete the works as quickly as possible.

The works include removing the existing asphalt layers and paving up to the foundation layers, and implementing the foundation and paving layers, including the two layers of mattresses and 3 layers of asphalt mixture.
