Shahd al-Tabarani, a 20-year-old student in the third year at the Faculty of Specific Education, Department of Art Education, said in her interview with “The Seventh Day” that the issue started after the subject doctor’s decision that their artworks would be in natural leather, and this matter was new and different, which caused them some anxiety. And she continued: “After a long journey of searching for raw materials, and teaching the techniques of natural leather, its calibers and places of sale, a different technique and a unique style, we started with the technique of pressing to the point of coloring, and this was the first project made of natural leather and I participated in an exhibition held in the college.”

The projects differed between one student and the other. Some of them made a bag, and some of them hung a “frame” inspired by folk art. Some of them were pieces of clothing such as the Sudairi in its forms, which contained many drawings that the ancient Egyptians were famous for, whether it was a scarab or the famous Egyptian cat, in addition to pharaonic symbols such as the key to life, and she added In the second term, the subject began to develop, so the stages of production remained busy and functional, in which we learned to combine all the different techniques to the point of locking the piece, and using it in our day, and we remained experienced in natural leather and its details over a full year, and it was required of every person who works a functional piece that can be used usefully. .

The project went through many stages of pressure, coloring, fixation, pattern, locking and preparing it to turn into practical products and at the same time meet the standards of beauty and art. It is completely different from the traditional or usual needs, and at the same time so beautiful that anyone who sees it would like to own it, and this made the entire batch as if it were on one production line that implements and creates products that take the fingerprints of Egyptians and a brilliant art that is unparalleled.
