“Customs” launches a campaign to combat counterfeit and counterfeit goods

The Jordanian Customs Department launched its seasonal campaign to combat counterfeit and counterfeit goods, on the occasion of the approaching Eid al-Adha.
A circular to the department affiliated to the Ministry of Finance indicated that the campaign comes within the border measures to protect intellectual property rights that aim to enforce the provisions of Article 41/d of the applicable customs law.
The department instructed those who are required to tighten control over clothes, shoes, bags, chocolate, and other targeted goods on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, in the event that there is apparent evidence of infringement of the intellectual property rights of trademarks based on the provisions of Article 41 of the applicable customs law through intellectual property liaison officers at border posts. .
Article 41 of the Customs Law states: “It is prohibited to bring in imported goods that constitute an infringement of any of the intellectual property rights subject to protection under the relevant legislation in force.”
