A 48-year-old woman managed to survive for five days in the Australian bush by eating sweets and drinking one bottle of wine..

Lillian Ebb set out on what was supposed to be a short one-day trip, traveling through the dense bush of Victoria, but came to a standstill after taking a wrong turn and getting her car stuck in the mud. After five nights stranded, she was discovered by the emergency services while they were flying into the sky as part of a search. “First thing that came to my mind, I was thinking of water,” Lillian said. “I thought I was going to die in there,” she said, adding that she “was about to give up.” After Lillian gave up hope of being found alive and rescued, she wrote a letter to her family saying she loved them.

Victoria Police said Ms Lillian Ipp was found 60 kilometers (37 miles) from the nearest town and due to health issues she was unable to walk long distances so she stayed with her car..

She had only a few snacks and sweets, and she had no water. “The only liquid Lillian drank was a bottle of wine she bought as a gift, which made her survive,” Wodonga Police Station Sergeant Martin Torbie said. “She used common sense to stay with her car.” And not wandering in the bush, which helped the police find her, and Mrs. Ipp was taken to hospital for treatment for dehydration, but she has since returned to her home in Melbourne..
