Al-Bawsala – Jordanian parliamentary and political figures described, on Monday, the conduct of the presidential and parliamentary elections that took place in Turkey on Sunday as “a very unique democratic scene at the level of political participation in the world.”

Al-Ain Yassin Al-Hasban, head of the Turkish Friendship Committee in the Senate, said, “What Turkey witnessed on May 14 was a lesson to the world and its people, when democracy appeared in its most beautiful form.”

Al-Husban said in a statement to Anadolu Agency, “All eyes turned yesterday towards Turkey, which proved to everyone that it decides its future, and we noticed, despite the intense competition, that all candidates called for protecting the will of the people.”

And he continued: “When you find the President of the Republic, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, standing in line to vote like any ordinary citizen and refusing to advance to the role of the citizen, this is a message to all democracies in the world that this country is moving forward with confidence and steadfastness.”

For his part, Secretary-General of the Islamic Action Front Murad al-Adaileh said: “We congratulate Turkey for this ancient democratic model, which has become a giant on the international and Islamic arenas, and a testament that Turkey is able to present the model to the region.”

Adaileh added, in a statement to Anadolu Agency, that “many Arab citizens were closely following the electoral scene in Turkey, expressing a desire and ambition to reach such a model in the people’s ability to be the owners of the role and decision in their political and economic future.”

In turn, political analyst Amer Al-Sabayla said, “The democratic scene in Turkey can be classified as very unique, as democracies in the world suffer from a high rate of reluctance to participate in politics.”
Al-Sabaileh explained to Anadolu Agency: “The Turkish elections came to break this political monotony and set a very vivid example in the matter of political participation and change through the funds.”
