The Ministry of Health’s strategy revealed a project to increase the number of civil health insurance recipients of the National Aid Fund at a cost of 3.5 million euros over two years.
The project will be funded, according to the strategy, from the budget of the Ministry of Health (until the indicator is achieved: the European Union), and the amount will be divided; 1.5 million euros in 2023, and 2 million euros in 2024.
The authorities responsible for the project will be the Health Insurance Administration and the National Aid Fund, while the Ministry of Social Development, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation will be partner agencies.
The project measurement indicator will depend on the rate of increase in the number of people obtaining civil health insurance, the category of beneficiaries of the National Aid Fund.
The project aims to raise the expected value of the index to 7% in 2023 and 14% in 2024.
Through the strategy, the Ministry of Health will implement many programs and projects related to health services provided through the ministry’s directorates, hospitals and health centers.
The strategy focused on primary health care as the entry point for the health system and the adoption of the preventive medicine model and the family health model in primary health care.
The cost of the Ministry of Health’s strategy for the years (2023-2025) is estimated at 1.7 billion dinars, 66% of which will be funded within the ministry’s budgets, according to Minister of Health Firas al-Hawari.
