The Ministry of Agriculture confirmed that Saudi Arabia lifted today, Sunday, the temporary ban it had imposed on Jordan’s sheep exports.

According to a statement by the Ministry, this measure came by Saudi Arabia after the World Organization for Animal Health announced on its website the end of foot-and-mouth disease in Jordan, which had infected cows in a specific area, and after the Saudi veterinary authorities were briefed on the Ministry of Agriculture’s procedures that led to the end of the case and based on coordination. Continuing, the name of Jordan was raised on the platform on which sheep import requests are submitted.

Jordan had informed the international organization of the occurrence of the infection since the announcement of the laboratory results, which confirmed that cows in Al-Dulail farms were infected with a new strain of foot and mouth disease virus.
