The monthly bulletin issued by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities showed an increase in the number of overnight tourists during the first third of the current year 2023 by 78.7 percent compared to the same period in 2022, as their number reached 1,597,539 tourists, while their number in the same period of 2022 reached about 894,097 tourists.

Overnight tourists to the group of Asian countries (China – India – Malaysia – Philippines – Japan – Australia – New Zealand – Thailand – Singapore) achieved a remarkable increase during the first third of the current year 2023 by 260.6 percent compared to the same period in 2022, which is the highest percentage recorded. During the first third of this year, the bulletin showed an increase in overnight tourists for the American countries group by 136.1 percent, followed by the European countries group, which achieved an increase of 129.9 percent, while the Arab countries achieved an increase of 64 percent.

With regard to the number of visitors during the month of April 2023, it reached 481,253 visitors, achieving an increase of 77 percent compared to the same month of 2022.
