Al-Bawsala – The head of the Islamic Supreme Commission in Jerusalem and the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, stressed the importance of the role played by Jordan at all levels in the care, protection and maintenance of Al-Aqsa and the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, within the framework of the Hashemite guardianship of King Abdullah II.
This came during a speech he delivered, on Wednesday, at the activities of the second season of the Jerusalem Festival, which was organized by the Jerusalem Committee at the University of Jordan, in cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs, and witnessed a remarkable presence of university students, professors, and the local community.
He added that the defense of Al-Aqsa is a religious belief with the legitimacy of its association with the miracle of the Isra’ and Mi’raj, and miracles are part of the belief, so that Al-Aqsa remains in the hearts of all Muslims in all parts of the world.
Sabri pointed out that Jordan’s position rejects all Israeli attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque, which constitute a push towards escalation and a violation of the sanctity of the holy places. Jordan needs the support of its Arab brothers, to empower and support it.
For her part, the Jerusalemite, Khadija Khwais, said that Jordan paid a heavy price for adhering to its principles regarding the Palestinian cause and its justice and defending it, with the support of the Jordanian people who rally around their leadership, and do not compromise or acquiesce.
She appreciated the tireless work of the Al-Quds Committee at the University of Jordan, noting that the amount of support provided by the committee as part of the “Let’s Light the Lanterns of Its Resilience” campaign amounted to about 148 thousand dinars from the University of Jordan only, bringing the total donations of the committee during the past ten years to nearly 700 thousand. Dinar.
The activities of the festival included a dialogue entitled: “Al-Aqsa is the compass of the nation”, in which Suleiman Al-Dakour, Khaled Al-Bazaya and Nidaa Zaqzouq participated. Muslim.
