The Director General of the Food and Drug Administration, Prof. Dr. Nizar Mahmoud Muhaidat, today launched ten new electronic services through a unified integrated digital platform, starting from submitting the transaction and ending with obtaining approval within the licenses and prior approvals project.

Muhaidat indicated in a press statement that the newly developed electronic services include: a service for approving materials in contact with food (food item), a service for importing materials intended for contact with food, a service for importing raw materials intended for contact with food, a service for issuing health certificates for export purposes, a technical advisory service, and a service for issuing a freedom of sale certificate. The service of importing and trading secondary food additives, the service of importing and trading food additives, the service of issuing a free sale certificate for medicines, and the service of issuing a good manufacturing certificate.

Muhaidat stressed that work is under way towards automating all the services provided by the Corporation within its electronic transformation plan, in a way that translates the royal directives into the necessity of continuous improvement in the efficiency and quality of government services provided to the citizen.

Muhaidat pointed out that the licensing and prior approvals project means the creation of a digital platform for prior approvals related to import, export and transit with the support of the United Nations Development Program under the umbrella of government agencies related to joint trade in the project, which are the Customs Department, the Food and Drug Administration, the Institution of Standards and Metrology, the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Agriculture in order to simplify the achievement .
