“The dearest boy is the son of the boy”, that popular proverb that many people cite in family situations expressing the extent of the grandmother’s love for her grandson, but now there is recent scientific evidence indicating that grandmothers are mothers who care more about their grandchildren, as a study was conducted on 1400 children in England, ages 11 to 16, and wondered how often each grandfather saw them, looked after them, and gave them financial assistance.

The answers, when collected and analyzed, indicated that the children receive the greatest amount of care from their maternal grandmothers. According to the British newspaper “Daily Mail”.

Perhaps the results of this study came because the maternal grandmother helps her daughter in raising them, and they are closer to her because they are her daughter’s children.

The researchers also suggested that the researcher’s findings reached this belief that women are keen to take care of children, but men are very interested in having more children with different life partners, so maternal grandmothers will do more to help their daughter raise grandchildren.

The results of the study, which was led by the University of Turku in Finland, are published in the journal Biology Letters.

The data analyzed came from a survey of schoolchildren conducted in 2007, each of whom had at least one living grandparent, but did not live with their great-grandparents, and nearly 1,200 of the 1,430 had a living maternal grandmother.
