A large snake caused an unusual traffic jam in Prince William County, Virginia, as the snake was discovered inside an electrical panel that controls power to traffic lights at an intersection in Prince William County, last Monday, according to the county police department.
Officials told the Associated Press that because of the snake’s large size, it was large enough to unscrew the breaker switch inside the electrical panel, which turned off traffic lights and stopped cars. Police and animal control officials worked together to remove the snake from the painting, which was unharmed, as the snake was later released back into the wild, according to People.

Concerned commenters on the Prince William County Sheriff’s Department Facebook account wrote various guesses regarding the snake’s particular breed, with one saying: “As an electrician, I’ve seen this many times. Snakes like to hide in electrical panels.”
