King Abdullah II directed the government to implement the Defense Law and the orders issued pursuant to it within the narrowest possible scope, in a way that does not affect and preserve the political and civil rights of Jordanians, and to protect public freedoms and the right to expression, which are guaranteed by the constitution and within the framework of the regular laws in force, as well as ensuring respect for property. whether it is real estate or movable and immovable property.

According to the Defense Law, 36 defense orders were issued, the first of which was on March 19, 2020, and the last was issued on March 24, 2022. In addition, 39 communications and six instructions were issued according to the orders.

The government relied on the Defense Law in dealing with the health, social and economic repercussions of the Corona pandemic.

One of the most prominent orders issued under the Defense Law was the imposition of a comprehensive and partial curfew, and it also included stopping legal articles in several laws and implementing new legal articles under the Defense Law, and regulating the process of administering vaccines against the Corona virus.

The orders included organizing the educational process in schools and universities, distance e-learning, establishing symbiotic programs to support groups affected by the pandemic-related closure restrictions, and organizing public gatherings during the gathering period.
