The head of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry, Eng. Fathi Al-Jaghbir, affirmed that supporting the local industry contributes to reducing unemployment, as the industrial sector is the most employed by the Jordanian workforce.
He indicated during a meeting held on Wednesday evening, at the headquarters of the Amman Chamber of Industry, to introduce the output-based incentive program of the Industry Support Fund and the mechanisms for benefiting from it, that the Industry Support Fund with its four programs came as an alternative to the export support program that was suspended.
According to a statement by Oman Industry today, Thursday, between Al-Jaghbir, the Industry Support Fund is more comprehensive than previous programs, and will provide support to industrial companies in the form of grants, not loans, and reflects the true partnership between the public and private sectors, through the representation of industry chambers in its management.
He called for the formation of a joint working group of chambers of industry and those in charge of the fund, to assist industrialists in mobilizing applications to benefit from its programs, expressing his hope that the fund would contribute to alleviating the burden of production costs and other costs that the national industry suffers from, thus enhancing its competitiveness to enter new markets.
He explained that the chambers of industry are working to follow up on many issues of concern to the industrial sector, by communicating with the relevant ministries and institutions, especially the issue of applying reciprocity with countries that put obstacles in front of Jordanian exports to their markets, in addition to reducing energy prices for factories.
He stressed the need for real and effective support programs to help Jordanian producers and exporters to address export-related challenges, such as technical, financial, marketing and logistical support programs and other vital aspects that support exports.
For his part, Director of the Industry Development and Support Fund, Engineer Rami Hammad, confirmed that 30 million dinars were allocated annually, as a budget for the fund, which includes the manufacturing sectors, regardless of the region and the size of the establishment.
And he indicated that the fund includes 4 support programs, and a ceiling has been set to benefit from it, in addition to creating a platform to receive support requests and benefit from the fund’s programs.
He pointed out that the incentive program based on outputs, according to which financial incentives will be provided to small industrial establishments with a ceiling of 150,000 dinars, medium ones with a ceiling of 300,000 dinars, and large ones with a ceiling of 500,000 dinars, in exchange for achieving specific targets, including increasing sales, production, exports and employment for Jordanians, and improving the efficiency of water and energy use and management. Waste.
It is noteworthy that the Industry Support Fund includes 4 programs, the first aims to support 195 establishments, with a ceiling of 100 thousand dinars for each small or medium industrial establishment, with a financing rate ranging between 50 and 70 percent of the total cost of the development plan, and it will be implemented through the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDEF). jedco).
The second program is concerned with the promotion of exports and will be implemented by the Export House Company. It is a financial grant with a financial ceiling of 50 thousand dinars for each small or medium industrial establishment, with a financing rate ranging between 50 and 70 percent of the total cost of the export promotion plan.
As for the third program, it is concerned with guaranteeing export credit, which will be implemented through the Jordan Loan Guarantee Company, as this program includes financial support with a ceiling of 35 thousand dinars for small, medium or large industrial establishments during one year.
The fourth program aims to support 280 establishments, according to which financial incentives will be provided to small industrial establishments with a ceiling of 150,000 dinars, medium ones with a ceiling of 300,000 dinars, and large ones, with a ceiling of 500,000 dinars, in exchange for achieving specific targets.
