The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission, Eng. Musa Al-Maaytah, said that political parties are independent institutions and it is not permissible to interfere in their political program.

He added, in an interview with the “Political and Partisan Participation” session through the “Communication” dialogue that was held under the auspices of Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, Crown Prince, today, Saturday, that the independent commission is responsible for implementing the law in terms of number and conferences and is not included in the political program.

“More speed than ever before in the implementation of laws. The projects were referred to the House of Representatives and approved in one session, whether related to parties or elections.” According to the assessment.

“The parties must be influential, have programs, and convince the citizen, because they will move to 50% of the seats in the House of Representatives with the next session,” indicating that the ball is now in the court of the parties and citizens.

He pointed out that what is important is the number of parties, but rather the influence and citizens are the ruler, indicating that even financial funding will depend on the results and the parties obtaining seats.

Maita admitted, “Unfortunately, we made a lot of mistakes, and we bear the responsibility for the fixed annual funding that was previously spent on parties, as some of them did not participate in the elections.”
