The Compass – The Ministry of Health seeks, through its three-year strategy (2023-2025), to expand the early detection program for breast cancer, which is the “most common” in the Kingdom, according to the King Hussein Cancer Center.

The strategy indicated that the program’s measurement indicator would be based on increasing the number of women who were examined with a mammogram. It is a type of x-ray image used to detect the presence of lumps, lumps, or changes in the breast.
Jordan annually records 7,000 cases of cancer, according to the Director General of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation, Nisreen Qatamesh, who said that breast cancer is “the most common” in the Kingdom, at a rate of 40%.
According to the center, a mammogram is the most effective screening method for detecting breast cancer in its early stages, noting that the survival rate for breast cancer in its early stages reaches 90%.
