Happy Eid al-Fitr closed its last days and departed, preceded by departure by 29 days of the blessed month of Ramadan, during which doctors, preachers, preachers, teachers and the media intensified their messages of the need for reconciliation to prevail between the quarrels and to end resentment and hatred, and to replace them with affection, mercy and tranquility in blessed and holy days.
During the happy Eid days, the Jordan News Agency (Petra) monitored a number of cases of reconciliation between people, and many greeted each other after the Eid prayers. Medical broken hearts syndrome, which specifically affects opponents.
Petra met specialists and individuals, and they talked about the need for the culture of reconciliation to spread among people, and for those blessed days to be used to get rid of it and maintain good relations in the same society. about cleaning the entrance to their apartment.
The cases that Petra monitored included reconciliation between neighbors and co-workers, and family issues that have been going on for a long time, but the greatest and biggest impact of these cases is a son who had a dispute with his parents and did not visit them for months, and a girl who quarreled with her brother for a simple reason, to end with pale and frowning faces With a smile and purity of heart that may reflect on their psychological health.
Dr. Zayed Al-Duwairi, advisor in behavioral economics and expert at the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, told Petra that tolerance has a positive effect on a person’s mental health. Forgiveness is considered one of the most powerful methods of treatment for so-called psychosomatic diseases, which are organic diseases due to psychological causes.
He pointed out that, according to the cognitive theory, the level of a person’s psychological health, happiness, and compatibility with himself and society depends on the nature of his ideas and the convictions he adopts.
He added that if a person adopts irrational thoughts, this leads to illness and disorder, and vice versa, and the verse of tolerance came in the Almighty’s saying in verse 34 of Surat Fussilat: Once the individual adopts the value of this positive idea: the bad and the good are not equal, he will be able to practice the behavior of tolerance.
And he showed that anger has bad effects on the society around it: Some scholars say: (And among the effects of this anger outwardly, is the change of color, the intensity of trembling of the limbs, the irregularity of the actions, and the disturbance of movement and speech, until foam appears on the cheeks, and the redness of the pupils intensifies. And the nostrils turn, and the manners become impossible, and if the two angry people see the image of themselves in the state of their anger, then they will subside their anger ashamed of the ugliness of their image, due to the impossibility of their creation, and the ugliness of the inside is greater than the ugliness of the outside. The inner change, this is its effect on the body).
He pointed out that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: Religion is only advice, and he repeated it three times. They said: To whom, O Messenger of God?
And he affirmed that God forbade us from division and disagreement, and reminded us of His grace upon us, saying: And hold fast to the rope of God all together, and do not be divided, and remember God’s favor upon you when you were enemies, so turn your back against each other. You have become, by His grace, brothers.
And he indicated that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, warned against bad relations and their corruption, and from here we see the positive effects of reconciliation between people in Islam in terms of love and agreement, while we see the devastating psychological and social effects of anger and rivalry on the individual himself, which extends to society.
He pointed out that the psychological impact of celebrating the holidays is not limited to happiness and joy only, but rather goes beyond it to the fact that the feast is an important part of psychological treatment for many problems and rivalries. Eid is optimism, joy, visiting relatives, renouncing differences and estrangement, whatever the reasons, and rising above imperfections in morals, and the best of them begins with peace.
He said that the Muslim visits the one he loves, to be freed from the constant psychological pressure, and it has a great impact on reaching the peak of reassurance and fading tension, and these religious occasions come to be an opportunity and a religious and psychological stimulus for the souls between the quarrels, to earn reward on the one hand, and to get rid of the deadly effects of the rivalry.
He said that the religious occasions of Ramadan and holidays are an opportunity to overcome rivalry to attract positivity and renounce tension, and charging faith has a psychological and behavioral dimension in alleviating problems, as we are sometimes forced to forgive not only for reward, but also to relieve tension and remove pressure and psychological exhaustion.
He pointed out that the feast is an opportunity to purify hearts and strengthen the bonds of love, because the soul is comfortable with that, and behavior is not correct if it is righteous and reassured.
And the consultant cardiologist and head of the cardiology department at Al-Bashir Hospital, Dr. Fakhry Al-Akour, stated that reconciliation with oneself and with others is one of the most important reasons for happiness and perfect body health.
He said, “Unfortunately, we are witnessing in our contemporary days a real crisis in people’s reconciliation with each other, so you see the interruption of communication with friends and relatives for the most insignificant reasons, which leads to the occurrence of estrangement and practices that contradict Sharia and good morals that urge not to cut ties of kinship and preserve friendship and love between relatives and friends.”
He added: All these sad behaviors have come to fall under the name of “broken hearts syndrome”, which is a disease that affects the heart as a result of a heart attack after a person experiences severe grief and heartbreak by a relative, lover or friend.
He pointed out that at that time the person feels severe chest pain, shortness of breath and dizziness with intense sweating, but it differs from an acute heart attack, as there is no sudden blockage in the coronary arteries leading to the death of part of the heart muscle, but a contraction and spasm occurs in the coronary arteries leading to morbidity. Sudden heart muscle failure and its inability to perform its function, which is to pump the blood necessary for the organs of the body, and the resulting symptoms mentioned above, which may sometimes require hospitalization.
He pointed out that, accordingly, intense sadness or intense anger plays a destructive role for the health of the heart, as the body secretes stress hormones, namely adrenaline and cortisol, which cause a significant rise in blood pressure, spasm of the coronary arteries, and the occurrence of broken heart syndrome.
And he indicated that friendliness, love, respect, communication, and giving gifts, even if they were symbolic, work on the body’s secretion of the “serotonin” hormone, which is called the happiness hormone, which works to reduce pressure, slow down heartbeat, and improve heart efficiency.
He called on people to redress thoughts and avoid breaking them, and to spread affection and reconciliation in order to preserve their physical health first, and then psychologically, in order to win a worldly life in order to gain God’s pleasure.
