The gardens of the Greater Irbid Municipality received more than fifty thousand visitors on the first day of Eid Al-Fitr, most of them concentrated in the gardens of King Abdullah II.
Garden-goers praised the public facilities and facilities of the gardens, which enabled them to spend happy and comfortable times with their families in a safe atmosphere that includes elements of public safety.
In turn, the Director of the Department of Parks and Gardens in the municipality, Eng. Qassem Al-Rousan, said that the municipality’s 22 gardens distributed in various areas of the municipality have been equipped and its facilities are maintained and provided with new games and maintenance of existing ones, to enable children to play the games they love with joy, in addition to providing green spaces. for families.
Al-Rousan indicated that the municipality has begun to take measures to establish seven new parks, with the aim of expanding the scope of its services to residents in areas not served by parks.
For his part, Director of King Abdullah II Parks, Eng. Yahya Al-Omari, said that on the first day of the holiday, the gardens received about 30,000 visitors, and the number is expected to increase during the second and third days of the holiday, pointing out that the gardens are an outlet for the people of Irbid and the northern governorates.
And Al-Omari said that the parks, which were established in 2015 with a royal bounty on an area of ​​180 dunums, are among the largest parks in the Kingdom. There are playgrounds, green spaces and rubber games for children, noting that most of their facilities have been modernized to raise and improve the level of services for visitors of all segments and age groups.
Al-Omari called on citizens not to light fires inside and around the gardens for barbecue purposes, in order to preserve their health and safety and the safety of the garden facilities, in addition to placing waste in the designated places.
