The ASE called on all listed companies to complete providing them with the financial statements for the first quarter reviewed by the auditors of those companies for the period ending on March 31, through the XBRL electronic disclosure system, before the end of the current month of April.

The Executive Director of the Amman Stock Exchange, Mazen Wathafi, confirmed in a statement today, Wednesday, that the stock exchange will stop trading in the shares of the violating companies, which did not commit to providing them with the interim financial data, starting from the first business day following the end of the current month of April, until these companies provide the stock exchange with the required data, based on For the provisions of Article (15/b/6) of the Securities Listing Instructions for the year 2018.

Al Wathafi explained that the aim is to enhance the protection of dealers and investors in the stock market, and to provide them with the necessary information in a timely manner, enabling them to make an investment decision.

He pointed out that after the end of the deadline set for receiving the data, the stock exchange will announce in the media the names of the violating companies that will be subject to the penalties stipulated in the applicable regulations and instructions.

He indicated that providing the companies with the financial statements for the first quarter comes in compliance with the provisions of the instructions for listing securities on the Amman Stock Exchange, which oblige them to prepare interim statements reviewed by the auditors, to enhance the principles of disclosure and transparency, and to enable investors and shareholders to obtain the necessary information and the results of the companies’ business continuously and in a timely manner. .
