Government bids ranked first at the level of government institutions in the integrity index

The Government Bidding Department won the first place in the category of government institutions in (National Integrity Index NII) with the participation of 100 government agencies and institutions and organized by the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission in cooperation with Al-Hayat Rased Center supported by the Spanish Cooperation Agency and the European Union.
The indicator aims to measure the extent to which Jordanian public administration institutions comply with national integrity standards (rule of law, justice and equal opportunities, good governance, accountability and transparency) in order to push them to engage in real and concrete actions and reach a national anti-corruption environment.
The Director General of the Government Bidding Department, Eng. Mahmoud Khleifat, said that the department’s obtaining the first place at the level of government institutions in the (National Integrity Index NII) comes as a culmination of the department’s efforts to develop its performance by updating legislation related to government bids and procurement in accordance with international best practices so as to ensure mitigation and limit some actions.
Al-Khalifat added, according to the statement issued by the bids, today, Wednesday, that the integrity index contributes to improving the business environment and increasing transparency and accountability within an institutional framework that governs the matrix of powers and relations with partners, in addition to automating 100 percent procurement procedures for works and technical services bids, and automating classification and licensing procedures for contractors and engineering companies.
He added that the integrity index is a measuring tool within a system of standards that constitute a competitive environment to motivate government institutions. Obtaining first place at the level of government institutions in the (NII National Integrity Index) is an incentive for us to move forward in development with the aim of reaching a national anti-corruption environment through commitment National integrity standards (the rule of law, justice and equal opportunities, good governance, accountability and transparency).
