Representative Hassan Al-Riyati announced that he was officially notified of returning to the exercise of his legislative and oversight work as a deputy, as of 13/5/2023, after the decision to return him to the parliament.

Representative Riyati directed, in a statement to:compassThanks to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and to the deputies who voted on the decision to return it to Parliament, especially those who signed the memorandum to return it.

Al-Riyati appreciated this decision, and considered that it came “to do justice to the people of Aqaba Governorate, and not only to him personally,” noting that the decision to freeze his membership is not fair, given that there are several parties to the quarrel.

And he indicated that freezing his membership in the House of Representatives deprived the Aqaba Governorate of representation in the House of Representatives for more than a year, thus depriving it of many rights similar to other governorates and cities.

The House of Representatives recently voted on a memorandum to stop the decision to freeze MP Riati, provided that he returns at the end of the current regular session.

Al-Riyati is scheduled to participate in the sessions (regulatory and legislative) of the Council in the event that an extraordinary session is held this summer.

It is noteworthy that the House of Representatives had suspended the membership of Representative Hassan Al-Riyati at the beginning of the year 2022, following a dispute in the House of Representatives that later developed into a quarrel.

However, Al-Riyati confirmed at the time that the decision issued against him was unjust and unfair, especially since the fight involved other deputies and no decision was issued against them.

The nineteenth House of Representatives set a record in the number of decisions to dismiss and freeze membership issued against deputies, the latest of which was the decision to dismiss Representative Muhammad Enad Al-Fayez, and to freeze the membership of Representative Abdul Rahman Al-Awaysha for a period of 4 months.
