Investors in the tourism sector confirmed the high demand for domestic tourism trips during the Eid al-Fitr period.

While they called, in statements to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), hotels and tourist transport to provide preferential prices so that domestic tourism would be the first choice for citizens, they indicated that there are tourism programs accessible to all citizens, that meet all tastes and cover all the governorates of the Kingdom.

Salama Khattar, a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Travel and Tourism Agents, said that the turnout for domestic tourism trips is excellent during the current Eid Al-Fitr period, noting that the “We Wanted Paradise” program contributed to the revitalization of domestic tourism, especially since the prices of its trips are supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Tourism Promotion Authority. It is suitable for the Jordanian family.

Khattar pointed to some obstacles facing domestic tourism, including the lack of buses during the tourist seasons and the lack of hotel rooms in Petra and Wadi Rum, calling for more attention to the tourism sector, which is an essential element in supporting the national economy.

For his part, Amjad Al-Maslamani, CEO of Dallas Travel and Tourism Company and investor in the aviation sector, said that domestic tourism trips have an unprecedented demand during the Eid Al-Fitr period, pointing out that transportation and hotel accommodation prices are high.

Al-Maslamani pointed out that the most demanded places and tourist sites by Jordanians during the Eid period are Aqaba, Wadi Rum, and the Dead Sea, calling for focusing on the services provided to tourists and the development of tourism facilities in order to give a good impression of tourism in the Kingdom.

In turn, Ashraf Hammad, the owner of the Montana Travel and Tourism Company group, said that there is a demand for Eid trips, pointing to the challenge of the high prices of hotel rooms and the cost of tourist transportation due to the high cost of oil derivatives.

He pointed to the efforts of tourism companies to market their domestic trips in a large way, and to provide various offers and events suitable for all citizens, explaining that the demand during the holidays increases on the (Golden Triangle) and the Dead Sea.

Hammad praised the efforts of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Tourism Promotion Authority for their support of the “We Wanted Paradise” program, which contributed to the revitalization of domestic tourism.

He stressed that there are tourism programs within the reach of all citizens, that meet all tastes and cover all the governorates of the Kingdom.
