The Ministry of Social Development seized a beggar in possession of 870 dinars in Aqaba, in her record of repeated security restrictions, according to a press release issued by the ministry.

Today, Monday, the ministry said that anti-beggary cadres arrested in Zarqa / Rusaifa another beggar in possession of 375 dinars and wanted for judicial execution. They were transferred to the competent authorities to take legal action against them.

She explained that since the beginning of Ramadan, 729 men and women beggars were seized, including 295 juveniles and 434 adults.

The ministry indicated that the social studies it conducts on the arrested beggars indicate that begging has become a means of quick earning for its practitioners and is not motivated by poverty or need.

The Ministry called on citizens not to sympathize with those practicing beggary to contribute to reducing this phenomenon and reducing its prevalence rates among members of society, stressing the continuity and intensification of its campaign to limit the spread of beggars.
